MELISSA KARIM

MELISSA joined in January 2023 as Vice President and headed the Casualty, Financial Lines and MGA Division of Labuan Re, and subsequently promoted to Acting Head of Underwriting on February 1st 2025.

Cik Melissa has accumulated around 27 years of experience in the insurance industry within various roles. She started her career at AIG Malaysia where she found her niche as an Underwriter in Financial Lines. She then went on to become a broker with Marsh and CIMB (now Howden) before returning to underwriting at ACR Malaysia where she was responsible for the Southeast Asia Financial Lines portfolio. 
 
Cik Melissa received her Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance Studies from the London Guildhall University (now Metropolitan University).
