Swee Chee joined on 14th September 2026 as Chief Underwriting Officer of Labuan Re. He has 28 years of experience in underwriting treaty and facultative reinsurance across Asia including the Middle East.

He held positions in various reinsurance companies including Principal Officer of Royal & Sun Alliance Re (Singapore), Chief Underwriting Officer of Samsung Re (Singapore) and Asia Capital Re-Takaful (Bahrain) at different periods. Swee Chee also worked in direct insurance as General Manager, Royal & Sun Alliance (Singapore) and in the broking industry as Operations Director, JLT Re in his long career. Before joining the reinsurance industry, he worked as a civil engineer.

Swee Chee is a graduate of University of Singapore in Engineering (Civil) and holds LLB(Hons) from University of London. He is a member of Professional Engineers Board (Singapore) and an associate of the Chartered Insurers Institute (UK).
